Hello, my lovely people!

April is here, and that can only mean one thing: we are starting the third and final term of the course!

For many of you, this is the time when everything starts to move faster. Revision, exams and the wish to finish the year on a high note.

That is why today I am bringing you an activity to review and practise a topic that can be difficult for many Spanish speakers: verbs followed by prepositions in English.

We know they do not always match Spanish. Sometimes, choosing the wrong preposition can completely change the meaning of a sentence. But don’t worry. Today we will practise in a simple, clear and interactive way.

What are we going to do?

  • Read real sentences with gaps and three options.

  • Choose the correct preposition that goes with each verb.

  • Think about why we do not always use the same preposition as in Spanish.

A quick example:

📍 She always depends ___ her friends.
A) of  B) on  C) in

(The correct answer is on. We say depend on someone.)

What will you learn?

  • How to avoid typical mistakes caused by literal translation.

  • How to use more natural structures in English.

  • How to feel more confident with 10 common verb + preposition combinations used in everyday situations.

(If you prefer working offline, I have also prepared a PDF version of the activity so you can print it and review it calmly.)

💬 Final challenge: Write in the comments one real sentence about your life using one of the verb + preposition combinations from today’s activity.

Enjoy it!
