B2/C1 – Cultural differences while traveling

Hello, my lovely people!

This week I am bringing you something special for those who enjoy travelling. Have you ever wondered how Christmas is celebrated across different English-speaking countries? Today we explore traditions from England, Scotland, Ireland, Gibraltar, and Malta.

🌍 A quick insight:

Did you know that in Gibraltar, Christmas meals often include traditional British crackers with a Mediterranean influence? Or that in Malta, families enjoy imqaret, delicious pastries filled with dates?

What will you develop?

  • Advanced vocabulary related to Christmas and travel.
  • How to use contrast and comparison connectors (however, while, whereas...).
  • Cultural awareness and appreciation of global diversity.

First, read the texts about these customs. Then, test your understanding with this interactive activity:

💬 Final challenge: Write a short paragraph comparing Christmas traditions in an English-speaking country with your own. Use at least two contrast connectors!

Keep practising!
