B2/C1 – Animal Proverbs

Animal proverb “The early bird catches the worm” illustration for a B2/C1 English learning activity.

Hello, my lovely people!

Today we are going to explore some well-known animal proverbs in English.

Proverbs are short expressions that transmit traditional wisdom and have been passed down from generation to generation. They often use animals, everyday situations or elements of nature to express ideas about life and human behaviour in a memorable way.

Although they may seem simple, proverbs usually carry a figurative meaning, so they should not be interpreted literally.

What exactly are proverbs?

They are traditional sayings that express common truths, advice or observations about life. Learning them will help you understand English better and sound more natural when speaking.
